Special Exhibition & Event Announcement (FY 2025) Kusakabe Folk Crafts Museum
We are pleased to announce our upcoming special projects for FY 2025.
Please note that during these periods, opening hours, regular admission, and access to the museum will be adjusted accordingly. We appreciate your kind understanding and cooperation.
①Special Exhibition: Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 Collaboration

Exhibition Period:
June 28 (Sat) － September 15 (Mon, National Holiday), 2025
Venues:
○Venue 1: Kusakabe Folk Crafts Museum
○Venue 2: Yoshijima Heritage House (Important Cultural Property)
○Venue 3: Shimo-Ninomachi “ONDO”
Opening Hours:
○Kusakabe Folk Crafts Museum & Yoshijima House: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
○ONDO: 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM
Closed Days:
○Kusakabe Folk Crafts Museum & Yoshijima House: Open daily during the exhibition
○ONDO: Closed on Wednesdays
Admission Fees:
○Three-Venue Pass: ￥3,000 (includes a voucher for food/merchandise at ONDO)
○Kusakabe Folk Crafts Museum Only:
・Adults: ￥1,500 (￥1,300 for groups)
・High School & University Students: ￥800 (￥600 for groups)
・Elementary & Junior High School Students: ￥600 (￥400 for groups)
Temporary Closures for Exhibit Preparation & Takedown:
○Setup Period: June 25 (Wed) － June 27 (Fri), 2025
○Takedown Period: September 16 (Tue) － September 17 (Wed), 2025
②Hida Takayama Jazz Festival 2025
Dates: July 19 (Sat) － July 20 (Sun), 2025
During this period, regular admission to Kusakabe Folk Crafts Museum will be unavailable.
Entry will be limited to visitors with Jazz Festival tickets.

The residence of the historic Kusakabe Family has long been a popular tourist attraction sinceit opened to the public and remains unchanged from the days in which the family resided there.
Among its numerous highlights is not only its magnificent architectural style with dynamic beams and post columns,but also the fireplace and various exhibits that demonstrate how the family lived in those days,as well as the elaborate Buddhist alter, which is said to have cost 1 million taels to construct.
More recently, we have proposed the museum be not only seen,but heard to breathe additional life into the experience while preserving its long, precious history.
This takes the form of music events, which take advantage of the resonance in the double height hall.
Enjoy a relaxing time in this museum filled with history,and find yourself a piece of the nostalgic historical drama while feeling the warmth of people in Takayama.
